It's a great lesson!

It took me a couple of hours to complete the first assignment to write a "simple" solo using only half notes. But it is one of the most rewarding assignments I've ever completed. I am very pleased with the melody I wrote.
I'm a 71 year old retired school Band Director and I used to perform professionally on the trombone in New York City and Houston, Texas. I also play the piano and guitar. I continue to play music as a hobby on the guitar and piano. Adam Smale is one of my favorite improvisation teachers. What makes Adam's jazz improvisation method one of the best online, in my opinion, is that he does a fantastic job on teaching "how" to practice jazz improvisation. The If YOU don’t like your solos, WRITE A GOOD ONE!? lesson has motivated me to get back into composing. I use the piano to write music and then play it on the piano and guitar. It is a very good way to continue to improve as a musician. It is great for ear training. I am so excited about this method that I may also pick up my trombone in the near future when I have a little more time. I highly recommend this lesson to all musicians who need a good way to go about "making the changes."

Thanks for the grat review Alejandro. This makes me very happy to hear your story. Way to go!
