It took me a couple of hours to complete the first assignment to write a "simple" solo using only half notes. But it is one of the most rewarding assignments I've ever completed. I am very pleased with the melody I wrote.
I'm a 71 year old retired school Band Director and I used to perform professionally on the trombone in New York City and Houston, Texas. I also play the piano and guitar. I continue to play music as a hobby on the guitar and piano. Adam Smale is one of my favorite improvisation teachers. What makes Adam's jazz improvisation method one of the best online, in my opinion, is that he does a fantastic job on teaching "how" to practice jazz improvisation.
